Electrically-operated single motor Lift and Recline chair. Made by Camelot Furniture Ltd of Sheffield, leading specialist manufacturer of bespoke furniture for orthopaedic needs (used by hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, etc, check their website for details). The robustly made comfortable armchair will assist an individual in reaching the standing and seating positions at the touch of a button, and will recline to allow the feet to be raised. Very easy to use with a simple two button handset. At the touch of one button the chair takes the user from sitting to standing position. Pressing the other button takes the chair back down and right back through to a 45° recline position. The footrest extends in the same movement, and lifts to almost horizontal. You can simply pause the movement at any desired position. The motor is very quiet and smooth. It comes supplied with a 24v transformer to reduce the power supply from the 240v mains. The chair is in very good condition. Most of the chair is covered with brown/grey draylon, but the seat and footrest are covered with a specialist, soft but tough, warm-touch, smooth navy blue material which helps the user to slide on and off the seat when standing up/sitting down. Very helpful for those with limited mobility, eg. Parkinson's Disease. Also very easy to wipe and keep clean. Fabric loop on chair arm for the handset. Large matching fabric magazine pockets on each side of the chair. 'Waterfall' style cushions on the back rest are detachable and can be repositioned for comfort. Camelot Furniture Ltd provides a 7 year warranty, being 2 years full cover from date of purchase, plus an additional 5 year (parts only) warranty covering the metal undercarriage and electrical components. This chair was purchased in November 2013 and so is still covered by Camelot's additional undercarriage/electrical warranty until 2020. It cost over £1000. It was used daily for nearly two years by a very light lady with Parkinson's.
